Ashton dropped out of the University of Iowa to pursue modeling. However his career took a drastic turn in 1998 when he landed the role of 'Michael Kelso' in FOX Televisions That 70's Show. While his film appearances in titles such as The Butterfly Effect and Dude, Where's My Car? helped carry his career to stratospheric levels, his reality based series Punk'd put him on the map as a prankster who targeted other celebrities.
After dating for two years Ashton married Demi More in 2005. After years of intermittent rumors of his bisexuality were fueled by the quirky, often homo-erotic relationship his character from That 70's Show had with Wilmer Valderrama's character 'Fez' as well as his gratuitous make-out scene with Sean William Scott in Dude, Where's My Car? Ashton is still followed by the continual suggestion that he plays for both teams.
